The “Jewel Chamber Egg”
The “Jewel Chamber Egg” is closely based on the Baroque design, the materials and the colours of the Jewel Chamber ambience. The egg is 9 cm high and made of limewood. It stands on a base which is also carved out of limewood.
A great many sketches were necessary in order to create a suitable plinth, which was then turned on the lathe and covered with 23.5-carat gold. Mini display case – glass dome
The decorative eggs are currently delivered in a hand-made, custom-built glass dome on a painted wooden base. The egg and stand are encased in a blown glass dome about 19 cm high, standing on a sculpted beechwood base painted black or in colour, with brass feet.
Mini display case – box
Another form of presentation we have come up with is a box-shaped display case. It is made up of a brass frame with real gold plating on the surface. This frame is fitted with thin “Goethe glass”, produced using a typical Baroque means of production. The slightly streaky appearance, with a few small air bubbles, actually reveals the genuineness of this historical technique; its claim to extreme technological authenticity really sets the mini display case apart.

All decorative eggs are delivered in a classical black varnished wooden box, to transport the objets d’art safely and elegantly.
Using a great amount of loving care, attention to details and their own highly specialized knowledge, the restorers meticulously completed each step in the finishing process: the design of the ornamentation, the manufacturing of the wooden egg, the application of the numerous paint layers as well as the genuine gold leaf and the delicately shaped shadow-lines. After innumerable hours of labor and long drying periods, a very limited series of “Jewel Chamber” eggs with their unmistakable design was created. Due to the hand-made quality of every single egg, some minute variations may occur. Each egg is truly unique. Wooden box + plinth Present box Give a secret |
